1. Operator, Acceptance, and Eligibility
RatioCalc is a trading name used by Mário Silvério, an individual operator established in Portugal, with a professional and service address at Rua da Boavista 67, 4445-348 Ermesinde, Porto, Portugal. These Terms of Service govern your use of RatioCalc. By accessing or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to agree to these terms in your jurisdiction; a parent or guardian must supervise use by a minor.
2. Informational Service Only
RatioCalc provides calculators, estimates, explanations, and educational material. It does not provide individualized financial, investment, tax, accounting, lending, insurance, or legal advice and does not act as your fiduciary, broker, adviser, accountant, lender, or attorney.
3. Estimates, Inputs, and Assumptions
Results depend on the inputs you provide and on stated formulas, rates, thresholds, timing conventions, rounding, and assumptions. Real products, laws, market conditions, fees, eligibility rules, and personal circumstances can differ. Review the methodology and sources shown with a calculator and verify material decisions with the relevant contract, institution, government authority, or qualified professional.
4. Tax and Regulated Calculations
Tax calculators are simplified estimators and may not model every eligibility rule, phase-out, refundable credit, deduction, surcharge, filing requirement, state or local tax, or fact-specific exception. Regulatory values can change after publication. RatioCalc does not prepare or file tax returns and does not guarantee acceptance by any authority.
5. Permission to Use the Site
Subject to these terms, RatioCalc grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use the public site for personal or internal informational purposes. This permission does not transfer ownership of the site, software, content, brand, or data.
6. Acceptable Use
You may not use RatioCalc to violate law; infringe rights; probe, bypass, or defeat security or consent controls; introduce malicious code; disrupt or overload the service; access systems or data without authorization; scrape at a volume that impairs the service; falsely imply endorsement; or reproduce substantial portions of the site as a competing service without permission.
7. Intellectual Property and Third-Party Materials
The RatioCalc name, original design, software, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party names, trademarks, source materials, rates, and data remain the property of their owners. References or links do not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or responsibility for third-party content.
8. Privacy and Local Data
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain information handling and consent choices. Some dashboard information is stored only in your browser. You are responsible for maintaining any exports or backups you need and for protecting access to your device.
9. Availability and Changes
We may correct, update, add, suspend, or remove features, formulas, sources, or content without guaranteeing advance notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available service. Important decisions should not depend on RatioCalc being continuously available.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RatioCalc is provided "as is" and "as available", without express or implied warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. Nothing in these terms limits warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RatioCalc and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses, or for lost profits, opportunities, savings, data, or business arising from use of or reliance on the site. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or willful misconduct where applicable.
12. Suspension and Termination
We may restrict or end access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, third parties, or legal compliance, including for material misuse of the site. Provisions that by their nature should continue after access ends—including intellectual-property, disclaimer, and liability provisions—will survive.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from or connected with them are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of protections that cannot be excluded under the law that would otherwise apply, including the law of your habitual residence where applicable. Disputes may be brought before the competent Portuguese courts, without limiting any right a consumer has under mandatory law to bring proceedings in another competent court.
14. General Terms
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms, together with incorporated policies, are the complete agreement concerning use of the public service unless a separate written agreement applies. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a reorganization or transfer of the service, subject to applicable law.
15. Changes and Contact
We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top identifies the current version. Continued use after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law; where additional notice or consent is legally required, we will provide it.
