About RatioCalc
An independent financial calculator project
RatioCalc was built to make practical financial calculations easier to access without forcing people through an account wall before they can calculate a result.
The public calculators focus on the numbers, assumptions and limitations that matter. The project is independent and the tools are intended for planning and education rather than individualized financial, tax, investment or legal advice.
Who maintains RatioCalc
RatioCalc is independently developed and maintained as a single software product. Calculator code, automated regression tests, methodology and public explanations are maintained together so a correction can update both the calculation and the page that describes it.
Advertising, where shown, is separate from calculator logic and does not change a calculator result. RatioCalc does not present paid placements as part of a calculation or alter an estimate to favor an advertiser.
Why use RatioCalc?
Privacy-first access
No account is required for the public calculators. Optional analytics and advertising are controlled through consent settings, and the privacy policy explains how infrastructure and third-party services may process request data.
Focused tools
The calculators are designed to be fast and direct, whether you are comparing borrowing costs, modeling savings, estimating taxes or checking a business ratio.
Transparent calculations
The tools expose the inputs and assumptions that drive their results, with limitations called out where a simplified planning model cannot replace a lender, tax authority, broker, financial statement or professional adviser.
How accuracy is maintained
Calculator models, current-year rules and public explanations are reviewed together. Shared financial math is tested, primary sources are preferred for current regulatory facts, and corrections are deployed when a formula or explanation is found to be misleading.
Published review record
RatioCalc publishes the review date and scope for each calculator family. The record distinguishes an internal accuracy review from regulatory or professional certification and explains the limits of what a calculator audit can establish.
See the validation recordHow the project stays free
RatioCalc does not charge a subscription for the public calculators. The site may display advertising subject to the applicable consent settings; that revenue helps cover hosting and ongoing development.
The aim is to keep advertising limited and keep the calculators themselves free to use without requiring an account.
How it started
RatioCalc grew out of frustration with financial calculators that were slow, unclear about their assumptions or placed simple results behind unnecessary friction. The project was built as a cleaner, more transparent alternative.
It remains an independent project focused on making practical financial calculations easier to access and easier to understand.
